The three buildings in this downtown Tryon, NC redevelopment are early twentieth century masonry commercial buildings. The corner building housed Missildine’s Pharmacy, a popular community gathering place in Tryon for decades. A large hall on the second floor housed the Masonic Lodge as well as other civic groups. A local bank remodeled the three buildings in the 1990’s, occupying them until moving to a new location in 2006. This redevelopment project returns the original architectural character to the buildings, housing retail at the lower levels with residential units on the upper level. A new stair and elevator enclosure at the rear affords accessible access from parking to the retail levels as well as the residential units, which will share a roof garden.
