In 2005, Tryon Arts & Crafts, Inc. purchased the 164 acre Alexander’s Ford property in Polk County, on the banks of the Green River, with plans to establish a regional arts facility to teach traditional crafts, while preserving the Historic Overmountain Victory Trail, which crosses through the property. This plan illustrates the Crafts Village, one component of the Master Plan, which is the core of the development. The tight cluster of buildings minimizes the disturbance of the natural features of the property, and incorporates two existing structures on the property.
