Rocky River Golf Club

Concord, NC

This Golf Course and Clubhouse was the first development on a new highway linking US29 and Interstate 85 in Concord, NC. With no built surroundings to relate to, the clubhouse takes its design cues from the form, scale, and materials of early American golf course architecture, which blends well with the wooded site. The building is located on a sloping site, allowing entrance to the main level from the parking area, while allowing cart access to the lower level. The entrance lobby features a cupola which fills the lobby with natural light and acts as a beacon as golfers approach the eighteenth green.
